Making Trails in Acadia

Like any good National Park, there are plenty of great walks and hikes in Acadia. The hiking was great.

But the real treasure of the park is the network of carriage trails that the Rockefellers built around the island. These carriage trails are still used by horses and carriages today, but they are also great for hiking and biking and running. The granite stonework of the bridges and walls remains a great attraction.
