Hawai'i Photos

All from May 2003

Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial -- The first NPS property of the trip. The Visitor Center was a pretty nice place to have to wait around.

Honolulu and Waikiki Beach turn out to be very urban. The Golf Course in the photo on the left is said to be the most played course in the world.

Other parts of Oahu were a little less urban.

Probably the most popular destination among the islands. Maui certainly has a variety of beaches and resorts.

Haleakala -- Maui's National Park. Visitors drive up from sea level to 10,000'.

Road to Hana and beyond -- Most of the famous waterfalls were pretty dry.

Iao Valley -- Wonder how they'll improve it.

One of the nicer municipal courses out there.

The Big Island

We began at an ancient sacred site, Pu`uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park. It was a great surprise.

Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park -- The big caldera is Kilauea.

Hawai'i had some nice waterfalls.

Landscapes and plants and leftover places.

How many airports have you seen like this?

Pineapples at different scales.

Here is some rainforest photography.
